Being a member of East London Chorus means being part of a committed, lively and very friendly group of singers.
We are currently recruiting altos.
You can be sure of a warm welcome.
You do need to be able to read music, and to have some sight-reading ability.
We come from all walks of life, range in age from our 20s to our 80s and have a variety of singing experiences. We all share one thing – a passion for singing.
Together we perform at a high level, not just because of the support from each member, but because our rehearsals include expert tuition from our charismatic Music Director. You can expect entertaining and lively rehearsals, where over time you will develop your voice and improve your singing skills.
Recent concerts include Purcell, Te Deum & Jubilate Deo and Haydn, Nelson Mass; Choral Dances and Opera Choruses in “An Evening at the Opera;” “An Evening of Musical Appreciation” with music by Bach, Brahms, Schubert and Fanny Mendelssohn and “A celebration for St Cecilia’s Day” with music by Bach, Mozart, Rheinberger, Finzi and Britten.
Read some “quotes from the choir” about why we enjoy ELC.
